New and Expanding Manufacturers Wanted

The City of Crystal Lake provides matching grants of up to $10,000 to new and expanding manufacturers. This grant program is designed to facilitate job creation and to assist business owners in occupying vacant manufacturing space in the City. The City’s program awards grants to new manufacturers for hiring new employees and for offsetting the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment used in every-day operation. 


Machinery Sales Tax Exemption

Open or Expand in Crystal Lake and Receive Up to $10,000 in Matching Grant Funds

The City of Crystal Lake’s recently approved program provides matching grants of up to $10,000 to new restaurants and retailers that are opening or expanding in Crystal Lake.


Improve Outdoor Seating Area and Receive up to $5,000 Reimbursement from the City

To support local restaurants and retailers, the City is offering new & existing businesses reimbursement of up to $5,000 & $10,000 for facade improvements. These eligible reimbursable items could be outdoor tables and chairs, umbrellas, weather enclosures and heating appliances.


The Economic Development Grant

The purpose of the grant is to provide state assistance for roadway improvements or new construction that are necessary for access to new or expanding industrial, manufacturing or distribution type companies.

  • Grant funding program up to $2 million per project for new or expanding industrial, manufacturing or distribution type companies. 

  • Reimburses up to 50% of eligible project costs on local roads and/or up to 100% of eligible projects on state roads. 

  • Eligible projects must be on a public roadway, be sponsored by a local government agency, show a critical need for improved roadway access, be supported by a binding commitment from a business or company to create or retain full-time jobs in an existing or new facility.

  • Ongoing open application period.

DECO and IMEC Launch Made in Illinois Program

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has partnered with the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center to launch a new grant to support small- and mid-sized Illinois manufacturers.

The Made in Illinois Grant Program offers local manufacturers grants of up to $50,000 in matching funds to support innovation and strategic advancements in manufacturing.

To be eligible, manufacturers have to have operated in Illinois for at least three years, have between five and 250 employees, and had to have had sales revenue in the last 12 months.To learn more and apply, visit imec.org/madeinillinois.
